Jennifer Court

When painting I try to represent my experiences and interaction with a landscape. Not only what I see but the
sensations and feelings felt when in a particular place. I aim to translate these sensations into paint, they become
marks made using a variety of media. Places that I have travelled to filter down into my work but the longer I am
away the more imagination plays a part in my representations. A particular theme and interest to me has
become the coast.

I work intuitively making marks, looking for a balance until the moment I feel a resolution has been reached. Through different processes I explore what the paint can do, what marks I can make and what sensations I can translate.
